This morning Robby called to tell me that he got a call from the doctors office referring to last weeks glucose test . So I called them back and found out that I had failed the glucose test by a little so they wanted me to do another round of tests. The nurse said that I could do the test anytime but I needed to fast 8 hrs before it so nothing else would show up on the glucose test. Since I hadn't eaten anything since the night before yet, I decided to suck it up and do it today. Robby, being the nice and wonderful man he is, came along for support since it was going to be a long day.

Now to do this test, first you have to fast (which is not a good idea for a pregnant hungry woman) then you have to get your blood drawn as a "fasting" blood work sample. Next, you have to drink a bottle that is labeled "fruit punch," which I have to say, isn't horrible but it definetly does not taste like the fruit punch you drink as a kid. Then over a three hour period they have to draw your blood every hour, totally four times (one is before the test begins and 3 after you have drank the fluid). Keep in mind, i only have two arms and not four, so that meant they had to prick me 4 seperate times on bruised arms. YAY! haha

I was a trooper and Robby was great at keeping me company and driving us around looking for stuff to do in between each hour.

I will find out late this week or next week if something shows up bad again, which means I have Gestational Diabetes and will either have to

a. watch my diet very closely

or

b. take insulin shots

Here are my battle wounds:
