Day 1 - Napa Valley, CA

We drove out to 3 or 4 different wineries out of thousands in Napa Valley, which is about an hour drive from San Francisco. It was soooo neat! I was obviously in picture heaven out there and the weather was PERFECT! I told Robby it was like God was with us at the winery..the wind was just whistling through the grape vines and it was so peaceful.

Driving over baybridge towards Napa.

Welcome to Napa!

Us at Silver Oak Winery

Silver Oak

These were the bins they made all the wine in...it is a long process. You will have to get robby to tell you all about it :)

Our tour guide..poor guy. He puts up with a lot of wine snobs, like the ones in our group.

Mustards Grill for lunch! It was GREAT!

Robby's dessert(sp?)..I believe it was called Lemon Meringue Tart..or something along those lines :)

Silverado Vineyards

Vine Cliff Vineyards

The same people who own this vineyard also own a 22,000 square foot house at the top of the hill. WOW!!

a local college is trying to create stems that are immune to bugs and disease...i can't remember what the name of their degree is but they have specific degrees that focus on wine. So you could literally be a "wino" if you wanted to when you grow up :)

they water EVERY day..sometimes twice a day

(Caves)...these are extremely expensive to build but they are energy efficient and in the long run become worth the purchase. Our tour guide told us it takes a HUGE chunk of money to start up a wine business and you shouldn't expect income until about 6 years later. It takes 3-6 years for your grapes to become good enough to use and a few years to let the wine sit and age before they bottle it.

Awww, it looks like y'all had a great time. There were no grapes on the vine when we were there; crazy! I cannot wait to see the rest!
